Offroad Bus?

  • Hola Manu, thanks for providing the details of your bus ... looks interesting and in comparision to a normal car much bigger than expected from the first pictures ... As far as I got it its based on the Eurotracker with front engine ... right ?

  • Hello, thank you very much for speaking english, I'll try to read with google translate's help.

It is a 1999 iveco eurocargo 4x4, with a bus body on top.
    The length is 7.5 meters
One interesting point is that the body is welded to the chasis, without torsion frame.

I'll be glad to answer your questions.Best regards

  • Muchas gracias ... :D

I guess the stabile frame is included in the bus body ... the torsion of a truck chassis specially in offroad conditions is far too much for a standard bus body and the windows would break

Busses on truck chassis used here are mostly on a spring loaded 3 or 4 point fixed support frame as most of the offroad / expedition trucks

  • possibly sufficiant if the bus frame is mounted to the truck chassis in short distances and the weight of the body is low ... those cross mebers may break away before bus body is destroyed ... I would hesitate to do diagonial torsion testing

Maybe the main purpose was just 4x4 for better traction and not heavy offroad usage :D

  • Well, I won't test it to the break point ;( so i hope we will never know...
Anyway, is an old mine bus, so intended to carry workers to the mine, not to play offroad with a 10 tons truck.
    Best regards
